Over 50 children enjoyed a fun start to the summer holiday at Thaxted Messy Church.
A week-long holiday club was held at Thaxted United Reformed Church and supported by helpers from several other local churches.
Using crafts, games, story-telling and songs, each morning explored a "Junior Hero" from the Bible.
One example was the boy who offered his five loaves and two fish, which enabled Jesus to feed 5,000 people.
The activities included making the "armour of God", one piece of which was the shield of faith.
This was the first time Thaxted Messy Church has run a holiday club and everyone was delighted it was so successful.
